Dr. Kristine Parker-Curling MBBS (Hons.) ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. American Board of Obesity Medicine Certified. Dr. Kristine Parker is one of the 5 children of Mr. and Mrs. Cedric and Josephine Parker. She grew up in a home where from a young age, the importance of family, hard work, prayer and striving for excellence were emphasized. Her formative school years were spent at Queen’s College High School and after graduating from high school and completing her studies at The College of The Bahamas, Dr. Parker went on to attain an Honours Degree in Biology & Psychology from McMaster University, in Canada, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Dr. Parker was thereafter accepted into the Medical Programme at The University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, where the foundations of her medical education were laid. After completing the pre-clinical years in Jamaica, she transferred to The University of The West Indies School of Clinical Medicine and Research in Nassau. It was this training that paved the way for her future achievements. Dr. Parker-Curling is the only full-time Endocrinologist currently practicing in The Bahamas. Dr. Parker graduated from medical school with an Honours Degree as class Valedictorian in 2007 and continued with an internship at The Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), New Providence, The Bahamas. Thereafter, in 2008, Dr. Parker moved to New York, USA, where she completed her Internal Medicine Residency Training at The State University of New York (SUNY) in Brooklyn, USA. After completing Internal Medicine, Dr. Parker furthered her education with a Fellowship in Endocrinology at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, USA. While in Charleston, she also attained certification as a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. Additionally, she is currently a Diplomat of The American Board of Internal Medicine with Subspecialty Board Certification in Internal Medicine and also in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
